The SunScan Canopy Analysis System uses field measurements of Photosynthetically Active Radiation (PAR) in crop canopies to provide valuable information about Leaf Area Index (LAI) and biomass production.
Features:
Measures incident and transmitted PAR in canopies SunScan Canopy Analysis System - direct and diffuse solar radiation schematic
Direct display of Leaf Area Index (LAI)
Optional above canopy sensor for immediate calculation of direct/diffuse levels
Usable in cloudy, clear or changeable conditions
Components:
SunScan Probe - 64 PAR sensors embedded in a 1m long probe. Average readings and/or individual readings from all sensors can be recorded.
PDA - all readings received to a PDA running Win Mobile software. A ruggedised PDA is offered, or software is available for your own PDA
Optional BF3 PAR sensor - mounted above the canopy, this sensor calculates the proportions of diffuse to direct sunlight, enabling immediate calculation of LAI under a range of weather conditions
Optional wireless connection - allows the BF3 sensor to be mounted completely independently of the SunScan probe for maximum flexibility
